18th May: MUMAC and International Museum Day!
International Museum Day will take place on Saturday 18th May 2019, organized by ICOM (International Council of Museums), with the theme “Museums as cultural hubs”
MUMAC is seizing the opportunity to launch the new “Be our Guest!” section on the mumac.it site, responding to ICOM’s invitation for museums to become “cultural hubs” and centres of excellence at a local, national and international level.
With “Be our Guest!”, MUMAC is becoming a “cultural hub”, a melting pot of ideas, influences and participation through articles by figures who, for various reasons, have a connection with the museum: different pens to illustrate the world that revolves around MUMAC, from coffee to design, museums, businesses, cinema, photography, training, tasting and art collecting.
The first articles published will be written by Simona Colombo, Gruppo Cimbali’s Marketing and Communication Director, Margherita Pogliani, a digital journalist and startupper, and Lucia Del Pasqua, a content creator and storyteller.
Every ten days a new article will be published written by our contributors, who include Antonella Andriani, deputy director of ABA Verona and ADI board member, Marzia Camarda, a cultural entrepreneur, Carlo and Giovanna Castiglioni of the Achille Castiglioni Foundation, Valerio Cometti, an engineer and designer, Carola Gentilini, an architect and director of the Ghisallo Cycling Museum, Lanfranco Licauli, Marketing Director of La Scala, Alberto Meomartini, President of Museimpresa, Francesca Molteni, director and producer of MUSE Factory of Projects, and photographer Beatrice Speranza.
And later on there will be a call to action in which readers will be asked to be our “guests”!
On 18th May, there will also be a special opening at MUMAC, allowing people to read the blog online and to enjoy a preview. Additionally, there will be a creative writing workshop for children aged from 5 to 11 that will provide inspiration for a forthcoming article. The workshop will explore the “The tree of schools” book, with which children will be free to express their imagination and originality, creating a “TreeBlog”!
Free admission: 14.00-17.30.
Free guided tour: 15.30. No reservation required.
Free “Be Our Guest – kids” workshop for children (aged 5-11): 15.00. Reservation required.
