Passione italiana

MUMAC at the Cube Design Museum - Kerkrade

On 20 April, the "Italian Passion" exhibition for design lovers and coffee enthusiasts will open at the Cube Design Museum in Kerkrade, Netherlands.

The exhibition is dedicated to the evolution of Italian design and style from its beginnings to today. MUMAC will be present with a major loan.

Visitors will be transported through the world of espresso and design. This journey in time begins in Italy in the early 20th century with column machines and continues thanks to technological innovation over the decades, ending with the most modern espresso machines, while also exploring the world of coffee makers that brought Italian design to everyone's kitchen. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the IMF Foundation.

MUMAC will be present inside the exhibition with a major loan of vintage machines, which range from Art Nouveau to Futurism, American style and '70s Italian design (including La Cimbali Pitagora, the only machine in the world to have won the Compasso d'Oro) and current machines with an outstanding design: the Cimbali S30, which won the Red Dot Award (V12), and Faema E71, designed by Studio Giugiaro.

Notably, at the exhibition you will be able to admire the following in the "Industrial coffee machines" area:

🔸 Vittoria Arduino Extra

🔸 Universal Mignonet

🔸 Gaggia Esportazione

🔸 La Pavoni Concorso (design Mari-Munari – vincitrice Concorso Casabella)

🔸 Faema E61

🔸 La Cimbali Pitagora (design Castiglioni-vincitrice Compasso d'Oro)

🔸 Faema Tronic (design Sottsass)
