In parallel with Milano PhotoWeek, MUMAC celebrates the Cimbali Group’s sponsorship of Photofestival, the Milan event dedicated to professional photography promoted by AIF (the Italian Photo & Digital Imaging Association), with an interesting and engaging workshop for children of 5-10 years of age and a guided tour of the museum and the temporary multimedia exhibition at Hangar 100 of MUMAC, “LaCimbali: Technology Heart Human Mind”, for parents and older brothers and sisters.

Photoplay
“Photoplay” is the promise of the photography workshop designed to train the eyes of children to appreciate art and the beautiful things around them and to discover, while having fun, what is hidden in a camera and how to capture the best light for taking a shot, and above all how to learn to look at the world in a different way. “Getting children used to closely observing things is one of the activities we are most excited about”, remarks Simonetta Foppili, founder of Simabè, specialised in “active workshops” where emotions and fun are accelerators for pleasant and educational experiences. “Photography – she tells us – is a language with its own rules. The images enable us to communicate, but also to learn how to observe, expressing our mood, to allow ourselves to be impressed and to choose the things we like most”.

Like a magnifying glass on the world, the camera becomes an instrument for focusing on an object, for capturing a moment, for rising to a challenge. The workshop finishes with a photo-jigsaw game that will engage and entertain all budding photographers who will have to find the pairs of many odd snaps, a kind of original take on Concentration.

Zoom on Technology Heart Human Mind
The collective memory, full of photos of people, coloured by their passion for their work, is the theme of the temporary multimedia exhibition “LaCimbali: TECHNOLOGY HEART HUMAN MIND”, which veers between the real and the virtual. With photos and videos, multimedia installations and almost dreamlike solutions, the exhibition celebrates the passion that underpins technology: the passion and heart that goes into a cutting-edge product every day behind the scenes.

For an afternoon focused on beauty and discovering new dimensions.
